Terence “Bud” Crawford Stops By The Breakfast Club To Talk Spence Fight, Jermell Charlo And What’s Next.

Since his win on July 29 over Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, Terence “Bud” Crawford has been on a victory parade, almost as if he’d won the NBA Championship, Superbowl, Stanley Cup, World Series or World Cup; and deservedly so.

Before the Spence vs Crawford fight was made, and even after both parties signed on and agreed to the fight, most casual boxing fans were picking Spence to beat Crawford in a fight if and when it did happen.

Although most boxing critics and conservatives were picking Crawford, and with Las Vegas having him as the favorite in betting odds, Crawford still felt as thought most people, especially people from the his own black culture and the hip hop culture were betting against him.

“There was a lot of people doubting me, saying the same thing that he was saying (referencing Charlamane Tha God). He didn’t do his own homework, just like everybody else,” he answered DJ Envy during his Breakfast Club interview when asked if he felt that there was “a lot of people who doubted you, especially from the culture.”

There is no doubting Crawford now as he sits atop of the pound for pound list in boxing as the King of all Kings, and has been elevated to legendary status with the likes of HOF Boxers such as Floyd “Money” Mayweather, “Sugar” Ray Leonard, Muhammad Ali, and many other legends that have came before him.

“Bud” was asked what’s next for him in the sport of boxing after such an astounding and dominating performance against Spence and several options were mentioned.

Is Spence the immediate rematch? Does Spence deserve a rematch after such a lopsided performance? Does “Bud” fight Jaron “Boots” Ennis, or will he move up in weight to face the “Undisputed Champion” at the 154 pound division in Jermell Charlo?

Does he decide to make another mega fight with Superstar Boxer and “Lightweight Champion” at the 135 pound division in Gervonta “Tank” Davis, if he decided to move up to 147 pounds and challenge Crawford for the “Undisputed” status and championship?

Crawford answered all these questions in confident and knowledgeable fashion.

He stated that he respects Errol Spence Jr. tremendously and would absolutely give him the immediate rematch, stating that their fight would not have happened if Spence did not choose to.

For various reasons relating to promotional issues, Spence being the “A Side” in negotiations and not having to submit to any requests but that he did so willingly with many other things, Crawford believes that Spence deserves an immediate rematch and would not be opposed to making that happen.

He also stated that he wants to face Jermell Charlo at 154 pounds because that fight would make history, with him becoming a 3 time “Undisputed Champion” at 3 different weight classes, which has never been done before.

In fact, he believes that a win over Charlo would make even bigger history than beating Spence to be a 2 time “Undisputed Champion” in 2 weight classes, even though that had never been done before until his victory July 29th.

When asked if he would stay and fight “Tank” Davis at 147 pounds, he said “Absolutely!” He believes that’s also one of the biggest fights in the sport to be made, but cautioned DJ Envy and Charlamane Tha God about “Tank’s” size and wondered if he would get the credit for beating him if he won because Davis is “too small.”

“Bud” turned down the possibility to fight Jaron “Boots” Ennis, citing that there is nothing at stake with fighting Ennis. Saying, “that fight is a lose/lose situation” because that fight is not a mega fight and that winning would not get him enough credit, whereas a win for Ennis would mean everything.

Bud went on to speak about how great it was that Eminem brought him out for the fight, how it happened , and the “Crawford vs Mayweather” talks, and more.

He also stopped by CBS Mornings recently and spoke on the his recent fight, but also spoke on his upbringing and his relationship with his mother.

Although their relationship is in a great place now, Crawford stated that he has not always had the best relationship with his mother due to her non belief in his ability to be successful.

In his interview with the cast of CBS Mornings, he touched on the topic that his mother would bring kids to fight him and bet against him to lose.

However, he states that he has a great relationship with his kids and are always there for them no matter what he has going on in his career or life in general.

We are happy to see that he is a great father of 7 and congratulate him on his victory over Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. We wish him the best moving forward with his boxing career and whatever is next in his life.
